Clear2GO Water Bottle with Filter

Customer Reviews

My girlfriend and I both got a water bottle in order to stop having to buy water, since the water in our area is kind of strong tasting. At first, we were kind of upset at how the bottle always seemed to leak from around the lid, but we soon came up with a couple of tips:
- Don't overtighten the top when you screw it on. I believe this deforms the top of the bottle and causes it to leak, since the bottle plastic is not as rigid as other bottles.
- If you squeeze the bottle, don't squeeze too hard. I've found that just sucking on the top produces the best results, but when you squeeze it, you can't squeeze too hard or else the water flow rate is too much for the filter and it leaks out of the lid seal.
With these two things in mind, the water bottles have become the greatest thing to have with us, as even the most horrible tasting water becomes drinkable. I'd highly recommend these to anyone. They drastically reduce the taste of chemicals in the water and do a really good job of filtering.

This product is good, but like most anything, has its flaws. I could go on repeating all the pros about it like everyone else has said (save money, landfills, etc...) but I will instead list the cons that I have thus far encountered.
It is difficult to squeeze, but in no way is it "impossible" like some say. Also, you need to realize that THIS IS NOT A TYPICAL WATER BOTTLE. Do not expect water to come pouring out at lightning speed. Its filtered! Just like water filter pitchers and most filters, it filters SLOWLY. Therefore, you need to be realistic when purchasing this filter water bottle. It filters a good amount at an appropriate speed, I feel. In regards to those two "problems", I typically sip while squeezing and really cannot complain that much and its not why I subtracted one star.
My main complaint is it leaking. It leaks no matter how hard or light you squeeze. In the picture on here (zoom WAY in), you seem a little "tab" type thing on the top of the bottle next to the spout. Well for some stupid reason, its holes (I can only assume to let air back in after squeezing it out) so water drips out of them. When I first used it, I was constantly dripping water all over my chest. The only way I found around it is to cover it with my top lip when drinking, or open my mouth wide when squeezing it in air to let the drips fall in my mouth. SO frustrating at first.
I have only had this shortly so who knows how it will stand the test of time, but so far I like it! Hope this helps. :)

Contigo AUTOSEAL Water Bottle, 24-Ounce

Customer Reviews

These are undoubtedly the best water bottles I've ever owned, and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone for water. However, I would NOT recommend these for powdered drinks. Read the last section for elaboration.
My friend bought this three-pack because it was the most interesting bottle that Costco carried, and when we opened it up, we were surprised to find that it had the Autoseal valves. I have to say that the valves make a world of difference. They dramatically increase convenience and can actually increase the volumetric flow rate of water you can take in. Since it has an intake valve, you can basically "shotgun" the water without worrying about bubbles of air getting in your way. Just don't tip it too far; the intake valve can be quite rude to the overzealous.
The bottle features a measuring label on the side. It opens and closes easily, has a securely nestled rubber o-ring to prevent leaks, and even has a carabineer-like latch built into the top. It's wide enough to latch onto the belt of a shoulder bag. The valve opens and closes effortlessly. For the most part, the bottles are easy to clean as long as you make sure never to store them closed.
There are only two drawbacks to the bottles. One has to do with the o-ring. Don't overtighten the bottle when closing it. When the embossed Contigo logo lines up with the measuring stripe, you're good. If you turn too far, the o-ring will start to bunch up and leak, since it is not fixed to the lid. To fix the bunching, grip the lid with your palm against the top and rapidly twist it back and forth to agitate the o-ring.
-- POWDERED DRINKS --
The other drawback has to do with powdered drinks, especially protein powders. If you shake the bottle and drink from it, some of the liquid will get trapped up in the intake valve. The residue will eventually start to give odors and even grow bacteria, and you'll be able to taste it in the water. If you own this bottle and the water tastes like ice cubes from your freezer, this is why.
Cleaning the intake valve is a real pain, because it's inaccessible and the lid can't be disassembled. Your only choice is to force water through. You can do this with a pump; by turning the bottle upside-down with water inside and blowing into the spout; filling it with hot water or carbonated water, turning it upside-down, and pressing the valve partway to only open the valve; and so on.
To compound the issue, the bottle's shape is slightly tapered at the top, so you'll need either alacrity or a funnel to get all your protein powder in there from the scoop. Take my advice: use this for water and get a wide-top, no-valve BlenderBottle for powdered drinks.

As a water bottle for general use, it's hard to fault this Contigo. It's rugged, nicely designed and priced right. The carabiner clip built into the cap is a smart and welcome convenience. The wide mouth, when the cap is unscrewed, allows for ice cubes and easy cleaning. Plus, its marquee feature--the AUTOSEAL cap--does exactly that. Push the button to drink and the seal opens... release it after drinking and the seal snaps shut and will not leak. Knock it onto the floor or store it upside down in your backpack without fear of losing a drop. I was genuinely impressed.
So if it's all good, why the three stars? Unfortunately, as I recently learned when I took my Contigo on a rafting trip, that great AUTOSEAL cap can also be its Achilles' heel in gritty or sandy environments. For everyday use, or for the average gym rat or cyclist, this is not an issue. But for use in the outdoors, you may want to consider other bottles. Get a bit of grit, dirt or sand into the seal mechanism--which is what happened to me when I simply dropped the bottle on the ground during a hike--and you've suddenly got a leaky bottle that can be very tough to get clean again. In fact, I could not get the mechanism clean enough to seal properly until I got home from my trip, and it wasn't easy.
So, despite the pros of this bottle, I deduct two stars for problems you may encounter with it in the outdoors, where water bottles are often an essential piece of gear.
Thanks for reading my review and I hope you found it helpful in making your purchasing decision.

Natural Law in the Spiritual World [Paperback]

Customer Reviews

This book is a masterpiece of exposing how things in creation and nature (natural laws) reflect the Divine Truth of Christian spirituality. This book would be particularly appealing to agnostics, atheists, and skeptics. It contains dire warnings on false types of spirituality that lead to Death, not to Life. It's arguments completely integrate natural law (science) and spiritual law. (theology). Absolutely phenomenal.

Since the mid-sixties I have had the book, Natural Law in the Spiritual World. My book is so old, it does not have a publication date! It is also so old, I can no longer use it for study purposes. I was delighted to learn that I could get a recent publication. Since the mid-sixties, I have tried to get greater understanding of Words spoken by Jesus in John 4.24: "God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth." That search is what led me to the book by Drummond, Natural Law in the Spiritual World. I am not a "scholar," but I am one who sincerely wants to learn. Since the mid-sixties, every three or four years, I re-read Drummond's book seeking greater clarity. My review of the book is not a scholar's review but that of a Bible student. I regard the book as informative - beyond measure!

Martin Scorsese Presents: The Best Of The Blues [Soundtrack]

Customer Reviews

Chuck full of the music you've been waiting for "Best of the Blues", featuring originals on originals. Spanning decades is just what the doctor ordered ~ best medicine from the likes of Ray Charles, Etta James, Robert Johnson, Bessie Smith, Skip James, Howlin' Ron Wolf, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Son House, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Allman Brothers Band, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Keb' Mo', Susan Tedeschi, Los Lobos, Cassandra Wilson, Bonnie Raitt and Shemekia Copeland. Featuring 21 essential recordings covering the last half-century of the blues, with a few pleasant surprises.
This CD is proof, once and for all ~ that the "BLUES" was then, is now and IS FOREVER ~ we've hit pay-dirt...and that folks, is the truth, plain and simple...gotta love it
Total Time: 65:22 on 21 Tracks ~ UTV Records ~ (8/26/2003)

While this compilation starts off well, the last few tracks are misguided at best. Susan Tedeschi is blues for soccer moms(do soccer moms get the blues?) and while Los Lobos is one of my favorite bands ever, I wouldn't immediately associate them with this type of music. A track by Taj Mahal, Little Charlie and The Nightcats, Charlie Musselwhite, Corey Harris, T-Bone Walker, Lightin' Hopkins, Mose Alison or the version of Fleetwood Mac that featured Peter Green (and the list goes on...) would have rounded the disc out in a more complete fashion.
The series of "essential" blues compilations The House of Blues label released a few years ago or the Blues Masters series on Rhino Records would be a better place for the novice to start.

Gaiam Yoga For Beginners Kit

Customer Reviews

This Living Arts Yoga Kit is great! You get everything you need to get started at a great price! If you bought all of the pieces seperately it would cost much more. The mat is very high quality, as are the yoga strap and blocks. You will get years of use from this set. The video will go through the use of props with you and help you understand their uses better. We reccomend this to everyone!

This product was not at all what I expected.
-The blocks are fine. No problems there.
-The mat is very thin. It's made out of that same non-slip stuff they sell at Wal-mart for putting under rugs. I've been looking at Yoga kits in nearby stores that cost within [the price] of this one and they had higher quality mats at nearly 1.5 inches thick. This mat is about 1/4 inches thick.
-The tape is geared more toward stretching than to Yoga. If you're interested in learning Yoga, this tape is not for you.
It's all about expectations and given that, I'm seriously considering sending this product back...

This is the only diet pill I feel I need to use going forward. It is an excellent, safe formula that has gotten me some nice results. I take it twice a day with food and have lost about 11 pounds over the last two months. I have been using it along with a nice colon cleanse product that I have found. No diet pill in the world will work without modifying bad eating habbits too unless you want to exercise like crazy but who has time for that...

SIGG .75 Litre Aluminum Bottle

Customer Reviews

I think this is a great bottle and was just what I was looking for at the gym: great look, large opening to easily mix a pre-workout drink, nice grip, locking tip. The only problem I had was with the tip. I unlocked it once and went to pull it up to take a drink and the entire tip yanked right out. I though it was broken but was able to put the tip back in, but now need to handle it very gingerly. When I'm working out, I'm used to just yanking up the spouts on plastic water bottles, taking a drink and mashing it back down. Never had a problem with the cheap plastic version. I was pretty surprised that this one was so sensitive. (BTW, the cap and spout on this are plastic too)

Best so far. Someone finally figured out how to be able to suck on the bottle and get a clean flow of liquid out, instead of having to stop and make that obnoxious disconnect noise. This check valve works fine.
Also, the paint on the bottle doesn't chip like the some of the other brands do. I use this thing everyday and wash it in the dishwasher-even though I don't think you are supposed to, and haven't had any problems yet.

NALGENE Tritan OTG BPA-Free Water Bottle 24 Oz

Customer Reviews

Flip top lid is genius, and doesn't leak ever. I love that this fits nicely into a bike cage or auto cupholder but I don't have to squeeze it or suck at it like a hamster to get a drink. One-hand operation is smooth and simple. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I bought this bottle specifically for cycling...it's the right size for a bottle holder on a bike, so that's a benefit over the traditional Nalgenes.
The problem I have with this bottle is that when it's turned upside down, it leaks out the top. The rubber seal on the cap isn't sufficient to keep all the liquid inside, so you can forget about throwing it in your backpack unless you want everything else in there soaked.
Not your best work, Nalgene!

Product Features

  • 24-ounce water bottle made of tough Eastman Tritan polycarbonate
  • Fits in most car cup holders, bike cages, and exercise machines

NALGENE Tritan Grip-N-Gulp BPA-Free Water Bottle

Customer Reviews

For those of you having trouble with the cup's valve, before using the cup for the first time, remove the valve and squeeze each side of it (it's cut in a cross shape). This breaks the seal and allows the liquid to flow perfectly!
I absolutely love these cups, and since our first purchase of them, I can't bring myself to buy any others. They DO NOT leak, at all!

I have to say, the NALGENE Tritan Grip-N-Gulp BPA-Free Water Bottle is THE BEST sippy cup we have ever used! As a previous reviewer stated, these sippys DO NOT leak, except for a few drops that are already in the spout, when shaken. Also, these cups hold-up WONDERFULLY in the dishwasher, even over many years, being used on a constant daily basis. My 7-year old daughter used the "old" Nalgene sippys for many years, and now that they have come out with the BPA-Free versions, I have purchased a dozen "new" plastic sippys, and will be getting rid of all my old plastic sippys and bottles, especially now that my baby daughter wants to use the same kind of cup as Big Sister. :) These are so much more reasonably priced than the stainless steel sippys... which I found were $14+ each, and I love that the Nalgenes only have one valve to clean! If the new sippys are as spill-free and easy to clean as the old ones, I'll really love them, too! My daughters are excited for the new colors, as well... green and purple in addition to the original pink and blue colors.

Product Features

  • Bottle is made of polypropylene which is 100 percent free of BPA, a chemical that was found to disrupt natural hormones

Reduce WaterWeek 5-Pack Aluminum 16-Ounce Sport Bottles with Refrigerator

Customer Reviews

These are really nice bottles, they keep the water cold for long periods of time, my only complaint (even though I did expect this) is the mouth piece of the bottle is aluminum as well so I got a slight metallic taste with each sip, but as I said I was expecting this. Since I usually fill this and keep it on my desk to drink through out the day I solved that issue by just keeping a glass as well and pouring small amounts in to the glass to drink, this also helps keep the liquid colder longer as it lessens the amount of openning and closing.

I really like the refrigerator tray. I know it is a small feature that many will not use, but for me it was great. I like the fact that they are organized in my refrigerator and ready to go on demand. Having it in a hurry is what I liked about bottled water. I found that the water gets metallic tasting if left for more than a few days, that is the only reason for the less than 5 rating. But as long as I rotate out the bottles and keep the water fresh, they are just what I needed to be able to grab a bottle on the go. Fill them up when I have a moment, and grab them when I am in a hurry.

32 oz. Gatorade 'G' Sports Bottle with Squeeze Top

Customer Reviews

This Gatorade bottle is great. It's the newer style of Gatorade bottle, meaning it has a contoured body for easy gripping/squeezing, it has a valve design that eliminates back-wash, and the orange top makes a great finishing touch. I highly recommend this bottle, as an athletic trainer I am continously exposed to the realm of hydration and these bottles are amazing.

I was a little hesitant about the new nozzle Gatorade added to their sports bottle. I was a big fan of the tried and true one they have used for the past 25 years. I have been using this new bottle for over a month now and would not trade it for the world. The old nozzle required you to pull it open and push it closed. The new one has a baffle integrated in that opens with pressure. You squeeze the bottle and water comes out. I have had no leaking issues whatsoever while the bottle rolls around my truck or gets thrown around in my backpack. I love it.

Seattle Sports Camp Bucket (Blue)

Customer Reviews

Water is the most important thing to have in an emergency or survival situation.
I bought two of these blue buckets and one of the jumbo green ones. My thinking was one trip to the water source would fill the green jumbo and two trips would give me approximately 12 gallons of water. Enough to fill my canteens and have water left over.
They are very flexible and roll up. They take up almost no space in your backpack. Thats what I like most about them. Besides, who wants to carry a plastic 5 gallon bucket around on their next camping trip.
They do have a "new plastic smell" to them so don't be surprised when you open the package. I'm sure if your in a situation when you really "need" these, you won't really care about that anyways.
I recommend these and have found nothing else that would replace their functionality.

This is very well made, holds about 2 gallons. Takes up practically no space in my pack. Seems like it'll last a long time.
I'm tempted to buy the whole line - these are great.
I'd recommend this to anyone.

Nalgene Tritan 1-Quart Wide Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle

Customer Reviews

I own both the Nalgene and the Camelbak BPA-free Tritan bottles. I like them both really well and use them both for different situations. The Nalgene is a great carry around bottle, while the Camelbak is probably better suited for the gym or biking (due to its bite valve). One nice thing about this Nalgene is the Camelbak tops (with the bite valve) will fit right on it.
What else can be said about the Nalgene? It just does its job and does it well. These new BPA-free tritan bottles are just as durable as the old polycarbonate ones, but without the potentially harmful leaching. Moreover, I have heard people say these new bottles do not retain odors or taste when left in a warm environment. The only way to break these bottles are with exotic explosions or liquid nitrogen (youtube for this). You can also fill it up with water and drop it off a building or slam it with a sledgehammer (while filled) and break it. However, just carrying it around for everyday use, you will find it almost impossible to break it merely by dropping it, washing it, stepping on it, or even running it over with your car.
I like these tritan bottles better than aluminum or steel because A) they are lighter and B) they are transparent. The color selection is nice, but could be a bit larger (like it was with the old polycarbonate bottles). I personally own the orange one with the white top.
The only con with this bottle is the mouth might be a bit too wide for drinking while moving (you might splash yourself). It is great for cleaning and dropping ice in, however.
Overall, the Nalgene is a legend, everyone should own one.

Great water bottle. It has a clean (clear) look to it and does not have any strong odor. It's opening is wide enough that you can clean out the bottle properly. It's survived some moderate "rough" handling.

Product Features

  • 1-liter wide mouth water bottle ideal for hikers, campers, runners, or any active individual who needs water on the go
  • Wide mouth is easy to wash, easy to drink from, and adaptable with accessories
  • Tritan technology material is BPA-free

Lifefactory 22-Ounce Beverage Bottle

Customer Reviews

I bought this to replace my KOR BPA-free plastic water bottles that broke, which I loved. They cracked at the hinges and one of them also got a coating inside it that was difficult to clean off. I mention the KOR because they were extremely easy to drink from--the opening was just the right size for easy drinking and the hinged top made it easy to manage the bottle--push a button to flip the top off for drinking and no separate top that you have to set down somewhere. So I really loved the design of my KOR bottles and hoped to find something similar in glass. I am not as happy with the design of this bottle, as it is less usable:
Pros:
Silicone sleeve makes it easy to handle and protects from breakage
Bottle, silicone sleeve and top are dishwasher safe
Large opening makes it easy to clean
Ring on cap makes it easy to carry
Fits in large cupholders in cars (not in small ones)
Glass makes it non-toxic and no taste imparted to water
Does not leak
Easy to see in the bottle so you can see the water level and whether it is clean
The bottle is less narrow than the KOR so does not tip over easily as the KOR did (thus leading the KOR to break)
Cons:
Large opening makes it difficult to drink from without spilling on self
The size of the opening, while being large enough to cause spilling, is not large enough to keep from bumping my nose on the other size of it. So my nose is always in the way when I drink from it, particularly as it gets below half full. I find that really frustrating (and yes, I have a large nose, but so do many people...). What I would really like to see is some sort of screw on top that creates a narrower opening for drinking, while still keeping the larger opening below so you can easily clean the bottle--SIGG has some bottles designed like that, which is a great design, however SIGG bottles had BPA in the old linings and the new linings quickly peel off. The company is developing a "sport top" but I don't know if that will solve the problem. My experience with sport tops on hard water bottles (metal) is that it's impossible to get enough water to flow out of them because you cannot squeeze the bottle.
The top is tricky to screw on straight--I keep putting it on slightly crooked and then it won't screw on and I have to unscrew it and get it positioned just right, so it will screw on straight. This is time-consuming and frustrating, compared to the KOR bottle that just has a push button to flip it open and then easily clicks closed. It's also much trickier than screwing the top on a SIGG bottle--I always found them easy to screw on.
Since the top is not hinged like the KOR, once you take it off, you have to find somewhere to set it down while you drink. Not a big deal if you are at work but if you are on the go, that can be a problem. And it is a large top, so it's not like you can just slip it in a pocket.
Being glass, it is heavier than plastic bottles, though I am willing to live with that to have non-toxic and taste-free water
It is a bit too large to fit in the water bottle holders of my fanny pack, so I've had to buy plastic bottles for that

Goodbye stainless steel water bottle. Good riddance plastic bottles. I have searched high and low for alternatives to steel and plastic water bottles. I was ecstatic to see LF offer a good-sized glass bottle and it already included a protective cover; I purchased two. Admittedly, I think the bottles are over-priced. Plus, LF missed the mark by not offering a sports cap with the initial release. For outdoor joggers/runners, I would not recommend this because it's too heavy. I have used this in a gym but it's a bit inconvenient. Without the sports cap, I am forced to pause to drink.
These should have been priced at $15 (as is) and $20 (with a regular cap and one sports cap); I would have given this 5-STARS. It also would have been nice if it was 25 ounces as opposed to 22. Ultimately, I doc this a half a star for the high price and another half star for not having a sports cap readily available.
I cannot comment on durability because I have not drop it. Really looking forward to the sports cap being release. On LF's website you can purchase a 22-ounce bottle without a cap or cover for $8; if Amazon offers, I may buy a few more as standbys.

Polar Insulated Water Bottle

Customer Reviews

Normally, thermal bottles are too hard to squeeze to get fluid out of them, and they don't insulate very well at all. These are the first I've tried that actually worked, and they're just as squeezable as regular water bottles.
PROS and TESTIMONIAL: First time using these I froze them both, put them on the bike, went riding out in the heat of summer, and couldn't get a drop out of them because they remained frozen hard as bowling balls the more than two hours of that particular ride out on the open road. I finally had to open one and drink at least the one sip's worth of fluid that had melted. This was an absolute first. I've used other thermal water bottles over the years, but I tossed them all pretty quickly. None of them worked until these.
Second ride I refrigerated them and put ice cubes in before heading out. The ice melted but the contents remained fairly cool for hours or riding, again in the heat of summer.
Third time I came up with a brilliant idea. I filled them halfway and stuck them in the freezer, then filled them the rest of the way with refrigerated fluid just before heading out. This worked the best of the options I've tried so far.
One rider in my riding club had a great idea--freeze one bottle and fill the other one with fluid and ice. He says by the time he's ready for that second bottle it's melted enough that he can drink out of it. I go through two bottles in under three hours in the summertime, so I'm not sure this will work for me, but I plan to try it out on the next long ride.
In any case, they are absolutely freezer safe. Go ahead, fill them and freeze them, then see how long it takes before you can drink out of them.
FLAVOR: I've had absolutely no problem with the bottle affecting the flavor of the fluids I put in my bottles. Some have complained about this, but it seems more likely that they didn't thoroughly wash the bottles before use. There maybe some shipping wax in there, or just some residue from the manufacturing process. Just two drops of dish soap; any more will have your fluids tasting soapy for several rides; wash out those bottles good even before the first use, and you wont have a problem.
CON--the 24 oz bottle might be too big for your bike frame: I measured the 24 oz bottle height at 10.5 inches with the cap closed and 10.75 with it open, the caviat being that before you order two of these bottles, make sure they will actually fit on your bike. One on the downtube definitely will, but you might have to go with the smaller ones if it wont fit under your top tube when inserted in the upright cage mounted on your seat tube. Mine just barely clears the top tube when inserted in the upright cage on my 54cm Trek road frame; if my frame were only 2cm smaller, I imagine it might not fit. I've included a couple of pictures of my 24 oz bottles in the cages of both my road and mountain bikes for reference.
I've seen several riders with a 24oz on the downtube and a smaller one on the upright, but the only problem there is grabbing and reinserting the bottle in the upright cage while riding. Personally, I used up the one on the downtube and then switch them, but many recreational rider never have gotten into the habit of taking a drink from their water bottle while riding anyway.
In any case, if you have even the slightest doubt about that second bottle fitting, buy one, see if it fits, and if it does then order a second one.
BOTTOM LINE: If they were normal water bottles I would buy them just for the size. Having 48oz of water on you without having to wear a Camelbak is nice.
The fact that the thermal technology works in this make and model is just miraculous, as I've tried several thermal bottles before and none of them seemed to do a damn thing to keep cold liquids cold and hot liquids hot--in the winter.
And lastly, every other thermal bottle I've tried was difficult to impossible to squeeze one handed while riding, so they were too inconvenient to be useful on a bike ride. Especially on a road ride near a major city, it's tough to get those precious seconds for a quick drink, so it really needs to work--and these do.

Well, I saw the other reviews and decided to buy 5 of these for a trip to Hawaii with the family. I received them today and they weren't exactly what I had expected. The outside is a frosted clear plastic and the inside is a pure white hard plastic. Can't tell if they are molded together or just pushed into one another. They don't rotate so perhaps they are glued or fused in some way. There is a layer of air between them as well as what looks like a foil wrap or sock that has the words and coloring on it. The wrap is very loose fitting and looks rather cheap. However, I didn't want to loose hope so I decided to come up with a test to see how well the double walled bottle worked, since, after all it was getting good reviews. I decided to pit it against a standard squeeze bottle that people normally put on a bicycle, and one of those hard plastic, wide screw mouth bottles that people are always carrying around work. I put 10 ice cubes in each of the bottles and left them in a hot room (between 85 and 90 degrees). I didn't want the color to be a factor so they were not put in the sun. I waited until the hard plastic bottle's ice had melted by about 1/2 then I proceeded to measure the amount of water in each of the bottles. The hard plastic bottle had 11 teaspoons, the standard squeeze bottle had 8 teaspoons and the polar bottle had 4 teaspoons. So from this I think it's fair to say that the polar bottle was much better at keeping things cold than the others. The other thing I did was put a napkin under each of them. The polar bottle was the only one that didn't get wet underneath. The other bottles both sweated quite a bit. I think the double wall would not have stopped the sweating so the foil liner must be adding some benefit of some kind. The foil, by the way, does go around the bottom of the bottle as well, not just the sides. Overall, I think it will work out well and I am going to bring them on our trip. I hope this helps others in their decision.

3 Sport Berkey Portable Water Purification Bottles

Customer Reviews

While I don't have a lab at my disposal to test the filtration/purification claims, I think it's important to have a few different water purification methods at your disposal. Whether you feel that iodine/chlorine bleach additives are more effective than physical filters...I believe it's a good idea to probably use a combination of methods.
Whether the area you're camping in is more conducive to UV, pasteurization, boiling, or iodine/chlorine bleach water treatments...I think it's a good idea to combine those methods with a physical filtration system. If you're pulling tap water in the US from "the grid" and not a well, it's most likely been treated with Chlorine Bleach already (unless it's post natural disaster / emergency, then assume the water in the tap is contaminated).
These bottles are great in that the filtration is part of the sport top. So, our family gameplan is to pull clear as water as possible (filtered through a cotton bandana or a coffee filter) into one container, treat it chemically, then pour the treated water into these filter bottles for a second layer of "water cleaning" and consume our water from this bottle.
May be overkill, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Ok, so I havent used the berkey sports bottles yet, but I do have a Berkey home filtration unit and its fabulous. I dont expect anything but greatness out of these. The seller was great too, thanks Lisa Decospace! She gives that little extra attention to customers! I also bought iodine since both of the items will be used in my survival bag. Fill the bottle with water, add iodine, wait 20 mins. put in filter and drink. No boiling/fire needed.

PMCI 20 Oz. (600ml) Satin Finish Stainless Steel Reusable Water Bottle

Customer Reviews

My 1st steel bottle was a pretty blue, for 3-months. All scratched up after that and ugly. This brushed finish always looks good and cleans easily. 2 caps and I use both. I like the pop up when hiking. Water comes out in smaller measured amounts keeping me from gulping and running out too early. The other cap is better for taking long drinks at my office desk. My wife used to keep plastic bottles in the car and the water got hot in warm weather. I don't know why but it never gets hot and stays drinkable in the steel bottle. Liked it so much I bought 6 for gifts.

I bought both the 20oz ; 34oz bottles; one for walking and one for the office. I was pleasantly surprised to see how light weight they are. The quality and versatility is outstanding. Couldn't be happier with my purchase; prompt delivery ; excellent value.

Nalgene Tritan Wide Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle

Customer Reviews

You can't go wrong with this. When I was in college, my roommate and I decided to test the structural integrity of a Nalgene. We were, for reasons which I cannot fully reconstruct, irritated at the structural perfection of the thing. Didn't matter what one did to it, it would not break. We were tired of having our flaws and inadequacies sneered at by this inanimate plastic thing, so perfect at it's job, so faithful, so unpossessed of anything even approaching a flaw. Nothing, we reasoned, has any business being perfect. So, we chucked my full Nalgene out of a third-floor window. It landed on concrete with a terrific SMACK!, which startled the hell out of this annoying girl who just happened to be standing close by, and bounced about five feet in the air before coming to rest, entirely unscathed. People seemed shocked, but we were not even a bit surprised. This thing is so solid, it's really kind of incredible. Like Chase Utley, the Godfather, the Hope diamond, Abbey Road, the chicken nugget, I cannot imagine an improvement. It's just so... perfect. If you're not totally thrilled with one of these, I don't know what to tell you. It's just that good.

I've used Nalgene brand water bottles for about 10 years now and I've never had any complaints. The bottles are sturdy (I sure have dropped mine a lot!) and they are easy to clean in the dishwasher. However, I was recently concerned when the potential dangers of BPA were discussed in the news. I had decided to replace my trusty Nalgene with a stainless steel bottle when I saw that Nalgene now made a BPA-free bottle.
The BPA version is just like the old Nalgene, but safer. No complaints other than the fact that all of the different sizes and shapes of bottles that Nalgene used to offer are not available in the BPA-free versions. I'm sure they're coming--but this bottle will do for now.

Product Features

  • Nalgene's bestselling water bottle for more than 20 years
  • Made of BPA-free Eastman Tritan co-polyester with superior impact resistance; dishwasher safe on top rack
  • Suitable for both warm and cold beverages (-40 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit); wide mouth makes cleaning and adding ice cubes easy

Klean Kanteen Poly Sports 2.0 Cap

Customer Reviews

I was almost ready to quit using my cap because it was embarassing to use,no matter how slowly and quietly I tried drinking from it!
But, I sent klean kanteen an email asking if they had any suggestions, not really expecting an answer...but I did get an email back with the answer I hoped for. The tip they gave me WORKED, and I absolutely love the cap now, and it doesn't make a sound!
So, here's what they sent to me....I hope it works for you too.
From Klean Kanteen: "I do have some tips for using the sports caps. They are our most popular cap, as well as our most complained about. It is the air pressure that makes that funny noise.
Sports caps were originally designed and used with plastic drinking bottles, and with those, we have the ability to squeeze and change the pressure coming in and out. Because you cannot squeeze stainless steel, air has a more difficult time getting inside and making the water flow out. We had to alter the design to include an air vent in the cap to allow the pressure to escape. This air vent does have a silicone plug and valve; it helps to keep the water in.
1) The trick is to "gently" tighten the sports cap onto kanteen. Not over tightening the cap allows the silicone vent to function more quietly by relieving the vacuum created inside the kanteen.
2) Try to keep the air vent facing up toward your nose. This way, it keeps the vent facing upward so it is backed by air, not by the liquid.
3) Only tilt a little and then suck through the spout.
Try those tips, and in most cases they will take care of the noise and air flow issues.
The silicone white dot is the air vent; if you take it out it will leak. There is some natural variation among the silicone stoppers and the noise that you hear is air moving past the silicon. Some people who use the bottle specifically for sports and working out will actually take out the silicone stopper and find that they don't mind the drip as a trade off for the increased flow.
The little plastic cover of the sports cap, is a sanitary cover. It is not intended to bear the weight of a full kanteen, it is just to keep the nozzle klean and safe to drink from.
I hope that helps.... Let me know if you have any other questions.

One planet, one you!

For the longest time, I held off on buying products like this one after reading several so-so reviews, or the one or two negative reviews in a bunch of good ones. It took me a long time to figure out that the very existence of an opinion forum will invite some people to nitpick, and often to even find problems where none actually exist. Such is exactly the case with the Klean Kanteen Sport Cap 2.0. I own three such caps, and exchange them among three Klean Kanteen bottles. I've never had the least bit of trouble tightening or untightening any of the caps on any of the bottles. Before writing this review, I went to a local store that sells these, and did another check there, exchanging several Sport Caps 2.0 with several Klean Kanteen water bottles. The result: Not a single problem. The caps all fit well, and tightened and untightened easily on every Klean Kanteen of every size that I tried them on. It's always possible that someone got a defective bottle or cap, but I find it difficult indeed to imagine that the average person would have any trouble whatsoever in this department.
As for flow and noise: The Sport Cap 2.0 is designed to increase the flow, and it certainly does. After a long run, I can drain a 27-ounce KK in well under 10 seconds with this cap on it. It's a cinch to wash it, and other than that it requires no maintenance. The only "drawback", if you want to call it that, is the slight whistling sound the cap makes when you drink from it--not some mysterious, strange sound that will make people wonder, but the ordinary sound of air rushing through a small hole in the cap, past a small silicone valve. The noise could probably be eliminated altogether if the valve hole was bigger--but this would make leaks much more likely (as it is, I can shake, drop, run with, and roll my KKs across the floor with no leakage whatsoever from this cap). In any case, I've used my KKs with this cap at work, in the classroom, and even in the quiet zone of a research library and never gotten so much as a curious glance due to this "noise" that is about as audible as a grumbling stomach.
Unless you spend most of your time inside a completely silent echo chamber, the air-flow sound won't be a problem for you, and as my three-year-old nephew can tighten one of these caps just fine, I doubt you'll find that to be an issue either. If you're looking for an excellent, easy-to-use-and-clean, high-flow cap for a KK, this is just the thing.

Polarlens G7 Multisport Sunglasses/ Ski Goggles / Snowboarding Goggles

Customer Reviews

My search for good economic sunglasses prompted me to try one of the G7s. I have had these for a few days now and I am loving them. Unlike some of the other sunglasses out there, these are very sturdy and seem to be unbreakable during normal handling and can handle a fair amount of abuse. I am a triathlete and what attracts me the most about these sunglasses is their versatility.
I've used these during rides on relatively harsh mountain biking terrain, long road biking sessions in 40-50 F windy weather, running and bike riding at night .
With the forehead padding and headstrap, these can protect the eyes against wind chill and the head strap would secure them in place for more demanding activities such as mountain biking and skiing. I used these on my bike ride at night (in the street light) just to protect my eyes from the wind chill and these worked fine.
Unlike some other sunglasses in the market, the lenses allow just about the right intensity of light to pass through for a comfortable night ride. However, for those who like to go for long bike rides at night, I would suggest trying these on a few short sessions just to check your level of comfort riding in these at night.
For those who just bought these glasses and are trying to figure out how to remove the forehead padding and the headstrap follow the procedure below. These are really sturdy so don't be afraid of trying:
1. To remove the headstrap - slide your thumb between the headstrap anchor and sunglass arm till you can feel the thumb pushing against the anchor and then press lightly with the index finger on top of the anchor to balance the forces of your thumb and the index finger. Now, slightly increase the force of the thumb till the anchor pops out.
2. To remove the forehead padding - Hold the sunglasses at the base (not the arms) with both hands (preferably with thumb on the inside and other fingers balancing on the outside) and then increase the thumb force to slightly bend the frame outside till the forehead padding pops out.
PS: I had to contact the seller (Campbell international) to get the procedure for removing the headstrap and forehead padding and I ll have to admit that my experience with Karin Campbell at Campbell international was amazing. Fast response, very helpful and friendly. All in all a happy customer (-:.

I bought these as an alternative to the bulky goggles traditionally worn by skiers. Reviews for several other similar products complained of fogging so I was a bit skeptical. After skiing Stratton in VT I am very satisfied. There is definitely more air movement through the lenses than regular goggles, which may be a proble for people with contacts - I don't know. There was no fogging at all and I think they're a bit more unique on the slopes. I look forward to using them in different situations and would definitely recommend them.

Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Water Bottle

Customer Reviews

Last month I bought a 40oz Klean Kanteen bottle and a 33oz Sigg bottle. In the end I prefer the Klean Kanteen.
Both bottles are very light and look good. The Sigg is lighter, but not so much to really matter. Sigg wins easily in the looks department with different artwork to choose from and the bottle I have has a nice textured powder coat finish compared to the KK basic look and smooth surface.
Sigg uses an epoxy to protect your water from the aluminum and tells you not to use the bottle for long term storage. Could be a bit worrisome not knowing what's in the epoxy and the possibility of aluminum contamination. I have not noticed a metallic taste from either bottle drinking straight unfiltered tap water. I prefer the stainless steel of the KK just because it's probably on the safer side.
The bottles are both lightweight and made of thin metal. I haven't dented either but I have been very careful with them. Both feel like they would dent quite easily. I have not scratched either bottle and the paint on both looks like new after daily use from work to the gym.
The KK bottle has the cap threading formed into the neck of the bottle while the Sigg uses a metal ring insert in the top of the bottle to thread the cap onto. Some people have complained that the Sigg's threaded insert is sharp, but I have not had this problem. The KK is more comfortable to drink from though. Also the wide mouth of the bottle makes it easy to put ice cubes in, which you can't do with the Sigg unless you have very small ice cubes.
I have the loop cap on both bottles. The Sigg I really have to twist the cap on tight so it doesn't leak. The KK cap seals quite easily and has never leaked. The KK also uses a thicker thread size and is easier to screw the cap onto because of this.
Some people are complaining about sweating. On a hot day with the bottles filled with ice cubes both will sweat, but plastic bottles will also.
If I was going to spend that much money on a water bottle again, I would go with Klean Kanteen without a second thought. The only advantage of the Siggs is the exterior design.
Update Dec 09: Over a year of use now and I have stopped using the Sigg due to their older bottles do in fact have BPA. Something they said it didn't have, so I won't buy another bottle from them again since it appears they were lying before. They will replace the older bottles, but you have to pay shipping.
I have 2 Klean Kanteens and both have held up well. Some minor scratches and dents, but still look quite good.

After reading recent information about Sigg not sharing info about chemicals used to line the interior of their bottle, we opted to switch to Kleen Kanteen for the stainless steel. There are pros ; cons:
1) obvious pro - the materials are known to be safe
2) the bottles sweat where as the Sigg did not sweat at all
3) the mouth of the bottle is large enough for ice cubes but makes it a bit more difficult to drink out of -- kind of like drinking out of a 1qt gatorade bottle --- sometimes a little bit dribbles out.
4) My 18month old loves his bottle because its the same color (stainless steel) as his dad's. We got him the sport top instead of the sippy top - and he manages just fine.
5) the slim shape fits nicely in most cup holders and water bottle carriers

PMCI 34 Oz. (1 liter) Satin Finish Stainless Steel Reusable Water Bottle

Customer Reviews

Would appear to be the perfect bottle, shape is excellent, size is good BUT it is not all stainless. Unfortunately the fitting around the opening is some sort of brass that gives off a horrible taste. Yes, I've washed it and used for a while but the taste is still there. A bottle that is marketed as ALL stainless should be just that. Not sure if the company will take a return or if it would be worth the effort so I haven't tried yet.

Mueller Sports Water Bottle Natural Quart

I bought this for my son to use at Kendo practice. Like hockey they need a long straw to fit through the masks. It works great. The lid is a little difficult to screw on correctly which is why I gave it only 4 stars. Other than that works well.

This bottle is what you have been looking for if you play sports with face mask on.
